Pressing pause....
The shop part of the website is going to remain closed for the next few months.
I’m about to start a long overdue project to upgrade my dyeing space and also need some time out in order to keep running the business the way I want to.
I want to reassure you that I am absolutely fine, I just want to keep Cookston Crafts at a level I can manage around my family and continue to do the job I love.
If I carry on at this kind of volume, I’d need to restructure and I don’t think it would be a positive move for me. I’d much rather prioritise quality over quantity.
I’ve been blown away by how the business has grown over the last few years and can’t thank you enough for all your support. I feel really lucky, especially at a time like this to say that the business is thriving and will definitely continue but it’s likely to be summer time before I open up properly again.
This is probably way too detailed but I’ve built the business on being open and honest and I want to try and answer some the questions you may have….
WORKSHOP CLOSED
The workshop will now be closed on Wednesdays until the Summer. However, I know that some of you have planned trips especially so you can visit and you’d be very welcome to get in touch to make those arrangements - I certainly won’t turn you away!!
WORKSHOPS
I won’t be doing any workshops for the next few months either. I will continue to do free demo’s and add these to social media and my You Tube channel.
CRAFT AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS TO CONTINUE!
The monthly in person craft afternoons and craft nights will continue on the first Friday of the month as will the fortnightly zoom meetings. Let me know if you’d like the email link to join us.
TREAT BOXES
The May Treat Box will go ahead as planned but I will have to cap the number of boxes produced going forward. All subscription customers should have received an email explaining what will happen after that - Basically I’ll pause the subscriptions for July and will get going with the treat boxes again in September.
YORKSHIRE YARNFEST
I’m also still going ahead with the in person Yorkshire Yarnfest at the end of May but this will be the only show I’m doing until at least July. You can find out more about the event here and message me if you’d link a discount code for a free ticket!
YARN COLLABORATION
When I was faced with this decision, I wanted to make sure that I could follow through with all my planned commitments over the next few months. One of these involves an exciting collaboration with Liz Corke and this will go ahead as planned in May. I’m looking forward to sharing that project with you soon!
ADVENT CALENDARS
Unfortunately I won’t be able to launch the Advent Calendars until later in the year. I will definitely be making them, in fact I might start production early but I won’t be in a position to release them for sale until later.
I’ll still be on social media, working away behind the scenes on the dye space and a few new exciting projects that should hopefully make things easier going forward.
This has been a difficult decision to make but one that I have thought long and hard about. I know in my gut that it is the right thing to do for now.
I hope you all understand
